Erica Chaplin
was born in the Caribbean island of Jamaica. She migrated to the United States with her family at the age of four and has since been a Florida resident. Her legal experience began as a contracted attorney through Synergy Legal Professionals, assisting in the discovery process for companies involved in complex litigation. She then worked at the Public Defender’s Office in Martin County and Fort Pierce where she developed a deep understanding of Florida’s criminal justice system. Erica has since established a collaboration with the Law Offices of Stone & Capobianco, P.L., as an Attorney of Counsel, handling personal injury cases, criminal cases, and estate planning/wills and trusts, primarily in Broward and Dade County. Erica has always been committed to public service which is evidenced through her continuous involvement in the community. In 2004, she established a non-profit organization called the Morlon Greenwood Foundation, which was geared towards raising health awareness issues that plague minority communities. She also served as a Board Member of Miami’s Multi-Cultural Educational Task Force, established after school FCAT programs, and provided guidance to many underprivileged youth through grant-funded educational programs associated with various universities.
